AESC awarded Clinical Affiliate of the Year
Animal Emergency & Specialty Center has long supported ongoing veterinary education both for our own team and the veterinary community at-large. To that end, we offer four regional continuing education events a year for veterinarians and veterinary support staff, host veterinary medical association meetings, and offer externships and practical training to veterinary and veterinary technician students.
On May 19, Lincoln Memorial University’s College of Veterinary Medicine graduated their first class of veterinarians. We are proud to have been part of their development, offering student externships for fourth-year students that provide practical experience and training with Animal Emergency & Specialty Center’s highly-regarded specialists.
It is with gratitude that we share that Animal Emergency & Specialty Center was awarded the honor of Clinical Affiliate of the Year. Lincoln Memorial University’s veterinary students voted for their favorite clinical training veterinary hospital among all affiliate hospitals across the country. AESC emergency clinician Dr. Sarah Duncan, LMU CVM Adjunct Faculty and Clinical Site Mentor and Supervisor for LMU CVM 4th year student clinical rotations, and oncology clinician Dr. Melissa Miller were on hand at LMU College of Veterinary Medicine’s graduation to receive the award.
Dr. Duncan shared, “We are honored and proud to have been chosen by the students for this award. The AESC doctors and staff worked closely with LMU students over the last year for their clinical training. It was truly a pleasure to teach these young doctors and play a part in their careers. We are looking forward to continuing to work with the students in the years to come and are grateful for this opportunity.”
