Dr. Unger earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. She went on to complete a Small Animal Rotating Internship at BluePearl Specialty and Emergency Pet Hospital in Cary, North Carolina, where she developed a strong interest in emergency medicine.

Outside of work, Dr. Unger enjoys spending time with her three cats—Tango, Toby, and Neutrophil—along with cycling, hiking, cooking, and attending concerts and music festivals.
